Before Learning
Upon completion of registration, you will become a microcredential learner at Deakin University. Expect to receive a confirmation of your order from Eventbrite which contains a link to access your learning straight away. If you don’t have a FutureLearn account, you will need to create one to accept the invite and start learning. The order email will also contain the receipt for your payment. Following this, you will get confirmation of your Deakin University enrolment, if you are not already a Deakin student you will need to activate your Deakin credentials. This provides you with access to Deakin systems (including for submission of assessment) and Library and Learning resources (which you will find invaluable in your studies). At this time you will also be provided access to the program page on FutureLearn and if you have not yet accessed your learning a follow up email will be sent to you.
How You'll Learn
You will be guided through asynchronous learning materials in FutureLearn. These are typically designed to be six weeks (designating 10-15 hours per week), but you can complete them at your own pace. Throughout your learning you will have access to industry and/or academic subject matter experts for support, including through 1:1 consultation sessions to help you with assessment preparations. You are required to submit an assessment within one of the four assessment submission windows available to you to complete and pass the course. You will then receive a digital credential and a half credit point of learning with Deakin University which can be used to stack with other microcredentials into a range of postgraduate courses.
After Learning
Upon submission of your assessment, you can expect to receive feedback from your educator within 7 working days of the assessment window closing. If you pass you will receive a digital credential via Credly within 14 days. If you are a Deakin student, once you have achieved one credit point (i.e. two microcredentials), your credit will be transferred to your award degree automatically. This may take up to a month from your assessment window closure.
