THIS WILL BE A MEMBERS ONLY EVENT
The tour will be followed by a brief meeting to convene the AGM where we will vote on constitutional change proposals and vote/announce the new committee. Details for how you can nominate for the committee and contribute to your Society are linked below.
Please submit these nominations forms by Friday 29 May.
The Branch committee has identified a two areas of the constitution we wish to update:
- Apart from the chairman and the secretary, all other members of the committee are not required to be a member. This is now in alignment with the Australian Division guidelines.
- The quorum for the General Meeting is changed to six members (in line with section 4.4 paragraph 1 of the Australian Division rules). As we had a failure of quorum at the last attempted AGM, this should hopefully improve operations in the future.
A copy of the proposed amendments (see the markups) to the Branch Rules can be found in the link below:
Provided these amendments are approved at the AGM, they will be proposed to the Division (for screening) and be forwarded to the Office of Fair Trading QLD.
As mentioned previously, a number of committee members are no longer able to fulfil their roles due to changes in their employment locations and increasing levels of responsibility. We are in great need of new blood, particularly members who are of a MRAeS or FRAeS level who wish to serve on the committee. If you are interested in offering your insights, contacts, experience, please fill out a nomination (contact me for the counter nomination signature).
We look forward to seeing you all at the AGM.
