If you need a quiet space and uninterrupted writing time, this is the event for you. Join a supportive group of committed writers for three days of fast-paced writing.
This event is only open to Queensland Writers Centre members.
Places are free, but we welcome donations to the QWC Fellowships and Access Fund.

Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event?
This event is for participants aged 18 years and above. As this is a QWC member only event you will be asked for proof of membership.
What are my transport/parking options for getting to and from the event?
Queensland Writers Centre is located on Level 2 of the State Library of Queensland.
There are several parking and transportation options:
- Parking underneath State Library or Queensland Museum costs $16 per entry.
- There is limited street parking available on Merivale Street, Montague Road and Hope Street at an hourly rate.
- A drop-off point is located on the ring road outside SLQ, next to the bus stops.
- The Cultural Precinct BusWay and South Brisbane Train Station are a short walk from State Library.
What can I bring into the event?
You can bring either pen and paper or a laptop along with you to write with. If you do bring a laptop, please remember to bring a power adaptor if necessary.
The venue runs quite a cool air-conditioning system so we advise bringing a jacket, jumper or cardigan with you.
