Event description
Quivers (VIC/TAS) bring their loud boy/girl jangle pop to Sydney to launch new single "When it Breaks" w/ Offshore Projects & Sasha March

About this Event

Quivers make cathartic guitar pop that jangles and shimmers somewhere between 1980s Australia and 1990s America and somehow lands us back in the present. 2019 saw the single ‘You're Not Always On My Mind’ light up radio here and overseas and lead to a live performance for Seattle's KEXP and a trip to the wilds of SXSW, while Triple J's Lucy Smith gave the song 5 stars and said "there is a real timelessness and nostalgia to this".

To celebrate summer's return, Quivers will tour their next single ‘When It Breaks’ all over Australia in November (single is out digitally on Wednesday October 30th). A song for people who want their guitar pop to glow in the dark and have choruses you can shout along to, ‘When it Breaks’ is sort of about how we are invincible and live forever until we don’t. As Springsteen said “everything dies baby that’s a fact, maybe everything that dies someday comes back”. Will we come back or be just be buried under the concrete forever?

Quivers toured the raggedly golden harmonies of their first album "We'll Go Riding on the Hearses" (Hotel Motel Records) around the US, Canada and New Zealand, supported the likes of Holy Holy, Angie McMahon, Cloud Control, and Methyl Ethel, and performed at Dark Mofo and A Festival Called Panama. Now it is finally time to tour Australia.

“Indie-pop quintet Quivers, from Melbourne by way of Tasmania, offered further evidence of Australia’s strength at the (SXSW) fest this year. A co-ed act with women locking down the rhythm section, Quivers stood out with instantly memorable choruses and a vocal sweep that sometimes included all five members singing.” Austin360.

“...one of the best songs I’ve heard in years... that song reminded me this is why we do this. I listened to it like a weirdo, like 8 times in a row.” John Richards, KEXP

Joining Quivers will be the unforgettable pop of Offshore Projects (ex-SURES) and the amazing Sasha March.
