Event description

Description

IMRt CIWG | Rotating Equipment CM & Maintenance

Hosted by:

Good procedures around monitoring and maintaining rotating equipment are pivotal in extending plant life, especially in these days of limited capital expenditure. The more life and better performance we can get out of our plants the better our future is.

Please read the items for discussion carefully and ensure you bring information along with you to share and help with the discussions. No war and peace novel, just photo's and bullet points in a power point presentation would be a great start. Paper copies of analysis / reports that can be handed around would also be good.

Items for Discussion:

  • What condition monitoring equipment is in place at your site? Please include photo's in your presentation.
  • What PM's are generated for your rotating equipment? Bring along examples of work orders to help with the discussion.
  • Who is involved in CM activities at your site? Department? Role?
  • Which external service provider/s do you engage for condition monitoring of equipment? Please bring along example reports for discussion.
  • What happens when actions are recommended from either internal or external CM tasks?
  • How are actions tracked and not lost in the system?
  • When maintenance of rotating equipment is undertaken what analysis is done around CM findings and investigations?
  • What regular maintenance is done on rotating equipment? eg: lubrication routes etc.
  • How are all of the above used to help justify continued investment in CM going forward? Please provide examples of how analysis has been used to save major disaster and save money.
