Event description

Description

What is Qigong?

For thousands of years the Chinese have practiced Qigong (Chi-Gong) and Tai Chi to encourage health & longevity, reduce stress, cultivate awareness, develop strength & flexibility and bring about a sense of balance.

Qigong can be thought of as a moving meditation. Slow, deep breaths are co-ordinated with profound yet simple movements and creative visualisation.

Qigong is a self-empowering practice that builds on your own internal healing systems. It’s also a practice that promotes health, energy & wellbeing and initiates transformation on all levels.

----------------------------------------------------------

The Workshop

During 2 hours of Qigong guided practice, the participants will learn the importance of and how to belly breathe. They will be introduced to the tools needed to calm their busy minds, reduce negative emotions, improve and enhance a positive attitude and increase energy levels.

Through guided movements and deep breathing the girls will learn a basic Qigong flowing form (set of movements) that can then be practised anywhere. A beautiful tool to have to help relieve anxiety & stress, find self love, reconnect mind and body and bring happiness, clarity and compassion into their very full teenage lives.

The joy of Chinese Tea will be shared. There will be time in stillness and reflection. It will be a beautiful morning and such a wonderful experience.

Michelle herself has a daughter and understands the complexities of teenage life and all the pressures socially, academically, physically and mentally that a teenage girl may be exposed to. Michelle has a passion to share Qigong with teen girls, giving them a tool that can benefit their emotional, spiritual and academic development and to offer them a system that can enhance their own self-healing abilities and increased vitality.

Contribution: The workshop contribution is $35 including morning tea.

Time: The workshop will run from 9.30am - 11.30am (Please arrive 15 minutes early to ensure we start on time)
