Event description

Description

NEURON is a powerful simulation environment, allowing the detailed simulation of the nervous system in a wide range of scales - from channels to individual neurons to networks of neurons. In addition to the thousands of studies that have used NEURON, it is also the simulation environment used for large-scale projects such as the Blue Brain/Human Brain Projects.

We are offering a one-day introductory workshop running through the basics of using the NEURON application interface, understanding HOC code, loading experimental data and defining a simple network.

Who: The course is aimed at researchers who need to use NEURON in their research analysis. You don't need to have any previous knowledge of the tools that will be presented at the workshop but you will find it challenging without a good background knowledge of neuro-electrophysiology. Places are limited so please advise as soon as possible if you cannot attend.

Cancellations: If you wish to cancel your booking after you have registered, please contact us as soon as possible so we can fill your spot from the waitlist.

Contact: Please contact the organizer directly.

Cost: Catering is provided at a small fee of $10 to be paid on the day.

Organizers: The workshop will be run by Lee Fletcher and Liz Cooper-Williams from QBI, but anyone with experience is more than welcome to assist.
