This training will focus on building an understanding of the person with Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD) in order to develop appropriate treatment and therapeutic work. It includes an overview of the basic principles of assessment and managment of risk.
Presenter: Dr Yvette Vardy, Senior Clinical Psychologist, Delmont Private Hospital and Spectrum Senior Education Officer, Turning Point. With extensive experience in training and supervision in Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) and a long standing interest in assessment and treatment of BPD clients, Dr Vardy focussed her doctorate on the experience of aloneness in BPD clients. She is passionate about training others in understanding BPD and working effectively with BPD clients.
Who should register? AOD workers and other health professionals seeking foundation knowledge regarding working with people with BPD.
Cost: $220 (Payable by Credit Card Only)
Lunch: A light lunch including a vegetarian selection is provided.
