About this event
Between the ages of 6-12 weeks is the critical socialisation period where you need to be exposing your puppy to other dogs, people, and new experiences. This can be difficult as puppies that haven't been fully vaccinated should not be socialised outdoors with other dogs.
That’s where Puppy Parties comes in!
It’s as cool as it sounds, and it's a great way to safely introduce your young, unvaccinated pup to a variety of dog breeds of different sizes, and to new smells, sounds, people, etc.
We start the party by playing everyone’s favourite, ‘Pass the Puppy’ where we pass everyone’s puppies around in a circle to get them used to being held by other people (and gives the hoomans a chance to cuddle other pups too).
If it’s your first time owning a dog or it’s been some time since your last one, then you might also have a few questions you'd like answered. The staff would be more than happy to answer any questions you might have about:
Training – toilet training and play biting
Worming and flea treatment
Desexing – when and why
General Puppy Care – how to do a health check at home
Insurance – why and what to look out for
It’s a very relaxed environment where you can have a glass of wine, some beer, or soft drinks and chat with the other owners and swap quirky stories about your new furbaby.
The pawty goes for an hour (although they can run WAYYYYYYY over time as the puppers are having way too much fun!)
Spots are limited and fill up quickly, so be sure to reserve your ticket!
You don't need to be a member/client of the Southern Cross Vet family to come along!
If your puppy is unwell, please refrain from attending, and call the clinic on (02) 9516 0234 to cancel your ticket.
We do recommend that you book in 2-3 sessions for your pup, but as this event is intended for unvaccinated puppies, we kindly ask that you do not book tickets after your pup's had his/her final puppy vaccination to allow others to join.
