Event description

Description

Every Monday at 2pm we host an open information and training session at our Brunswick East Cafe & Roastery.

In this week's workshop, we have drawn inspiration from the Q-Grader training course with a series of cupping triangulations, hosted by our training coordinator Chrissy. Akin to a blind cupping, a triangulations cupping sees three coffees placed out - two being the same, one different.

We will be presenting a series of six triangulations using our single origin coffees on offer, with the cupper's task being to detect the 'odd' coffee and identify the distinguishable differences.

Triangulation cuppings test palate sensitivity to tiny differences in coffee characteristics and are used by coffee professionals and hobbyists alike as a method of palate development, in particular to improve the ability to identify differences in acidity, body and flavour.

Chrissy will be providing insight into thinking like a Q-Grader and providing ways to identify these characteristics. Triangulations are a fun and engaging way to draw consciousness to your palate, and increase your skill in identifying the different attributes found in coffee.
