This program unpacks the framework and theory for providing Psychological First Aid .

About this event

Psychological First Aid (PFA) is an evidence-based framework that can be used as a part of Critical Incident Response (CIR) to helping people affected by a traumatic event, critical incident, emergency or disaster. PFA helps to reduce initial distress and assists people to cope better in the days and weeks following a traumatic experience.

This practical workshop will also sensitively touch on topic such as suicide/self-harm and closed with strategies for self-care and building resilience.

Training facilitator:

Jodi Rand - PsyBA (Hons) General

Jodi is a registered psychologist with experience in individual and group-based interventions in clinical, community, and forensic settings. Jodi’s previous experience includes dual diagnosis mental health and alcohol and drug services, and has experience working with, anxiety, depression, PTSD, grief and loss and substance use. Jodi has a special interest in trauma and has had formal training in the provision of eye movement and desensitisation reprocessing (EMDR) therapy and critical incident response.

Cost?

$130 - payable on credit card or invoice on request

Participants will receive a digital workbook and certificate of completion

Link to the online training will be provided no later than 48 hours prior to the training date

Cancellation Policy?

• 14 days notice or more: no penalty

• 8 – 13 days notice: 25% of total training fee

• 3 – 7 days notice: 50% of total training fee

• 48 hours notice or less: 100% of total training fee
