Psychoeducation Session for People Living with BPD

Spectrum is a statewide service in Victoria specialising in treatment, education, research and advocacy for personality disorder and/or complex trauma.

As part of our education and training, we offer an online psychoeducation session for people with a lived experience of borderline personality disorder (BPD) and/or complex trauma.

About the session:

• 2-hour single-session delivered online
• Small groups
• Clinicians led - psychiatrist and clinical psychologist
• Interactive, opportunity to ask questions and discuss information provided
• No pressure to speak if you are reluctant
• Receive useful handouts, videos and education resources
• No need to have prior knowledge about BPD and/or complex trauma

Content of the session:

• Diagnosis and symptoms
• Risk factors to the development of BPD
• BPD across the life span
• Evidence-based treatments for BPD
• Factors that contribute to remission and recovery
• Debunk common myths about BPD
• Story of recovery from a person with a lived experience of BPD
• Coping with chronic stress and self-care practices

Step 1- Am I eligible?

To be eligible for Spectrum’s online psychoeducation session:

• Living with BPD and/or complex trauma
• Interested in learning about the latest knowledge on BPD and/or complex trauma
• Live in Australia
• Not currently in hospital or currently experiencing acute crisis

Once you have registered, you will receive an email from Spectrum’s administration team welcoming you to the session and receive handouts for the session.

The administration team will send you a reminder text prior to the date confirming your attendance.
