Event description

Description

A continually changing environment continues to be a focus for the field of Psychology and Disability Services across all settings. On the back of transition to a new funding scheme for those with developmental disabilities, and the impact of that on the work that Psychologists do, focus has now shifted to creating a higher standard for those that provide psychological services to this client base. Throughout the conference we shall explore some of these changes and discuss the potential impact that it is having on research, assessment, intervention, policy and practice within this field.

Keynote – Doctor Emma Goodall : Translational research in interoception in Department for Education schools and pre-schools – Key learnings and Results

Dr Emma Goodall is the Manager, Disability & Complex Needs for SA’s Department for Education in South Australia, an executive committee member of the Australian Society for Autism Research (ASfAR), and an executive committee member for the Autistic Self-Advocacy Network of Australia and New Zealand (ASAN Aus/NZ). Emma has over 15 years experience as an autism consultant and educator, blogger, and published author, who combines her professional and academic skills with her lived experience of Aspergers to help people understand what it means to be on the autistic spectrum.
