Event description

Description

The Victorian Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) is holding an information session for new and prospective NDIS service providers on Victoria’s transitional quality and safeguarding arrangements during transition to the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS).

Victorian Government approval is a pre-requisite for NDIS registration for in-scope services. This session will explain Victoria’s requirements under legislation and policy in detail and provide an opportunity to ask questions of departmental staff and statutory office holders involved with quality and safeguarding.

The session will include speakers from the Office of Professional Practice, Office of the Public Advocate and Disability Services Commission.

The topics will cover NDIS provider obligations as Victorian approved NDIS providers, such as:

  • Acreditation and independent review requirements

  • Critical Incident Reporting

  • Role of Statutory Bodies

  • Restrictive Interventions and the Office of Professional Practice

  • Transfer to National Quality and Safeguards Framework
