Event description

Description

Nobody wants to think that their child could experience sexual abuse. But sadly this is the reality for some children within Australia.

This interactive workshop helps parents and carers to develop a body safety strategy for their family. Packed with practical tips and strategies to talk with extended family, parents are supported in creating safe environments that reflect their personal values and culture.

The workshop also challenges myths about abuse and helps parents navigate real versus perceived risk to ensure an approach that is positive and empowering for their child.

Deanne Carson is a leading Australian sexuality and abuse prevention educator, researcher, speaker and author. She is cofounder of Body Safety Australia, Victoria’s leading provider of whole community abuse prevention education.

Session will run from 7:30pm - 9:30pm (please arrive at 7pm for registration, including tea and coffee)
