Event description

Description

Christmas eve 2017, Sydney Australia. Just moments ago a heavily armed unknown group has taken over the Opera House. Shots were fired. Police are starting to arrive on the scene...

Project 1224 is a hostage crisis simulation in which hostage-takers, the authorities and hostages interact to 'resolve' the crisis in a high pressure environment of conflicting agendas. You will take on the roles of hostage-takers, hostages, police or politicians. Together with your team, you will advance the interest of your side through negotiations, deception and coordinated actions. This simulation looks at both the moral complexity of a real world hostage crisis situation as well as the effects of misinformation and perception.

PLEASE NOTE: due to safety and practical considerations, participants will not be physically simulating a hostage situation. Rather, this simulation is roleplay and narrative-based.
