Progressing gender equality in advertising: Community responses and promising local and global practice


RMIT University and Women’s Health Victoria invite you to attend the launch of two new research papers exploring gender equality in advertising!


  1. ‘Community responses to gender portrayals in advertising: A research paper’ researched and written by Dr Lauren Gurrieri (RMIT University), Mandy McKenzie and Megan Bugden (Women’s Health Victoria)

  2. ‘Addressing and preventing sexist advertising: An analysis of local and global promising practice’ researched and written by Dr Lauren Gurrieri and Dr Rob Hoffman (RMIT University)


Dr Gurrieri and Ms Bugden will present on the findings from the two papers above, focusing on opportunities to promote gender equality in advertising. These presentations will be followed by a moderated panel discussion where you will hear from key representatives in the advertising industry, advertising regulators, government, academia and women's health on how to progress gender equality in advertising
