Event description

Description

Professor John Frank, the Director of the Scottish Collaboration for Public Health Research and Policy, will be visiting the Curtin School of Public Health from February 13th – February 17th 2017.

Professor Frank’s broad research and professional interests concern the determinants of population and individual health status and especially the causes, remediation and prevention of socio-economic gradients in health.

While visiting Professor Frank will be presenting a number of FREE continuing professional development sessions, critical appraisal workshops and guest lectures.

All events will be held at Curtin University’s Medical School (Bentley Campus) and registration is required as numbers are limited.

The series of workshops are continuing professional development sessions therefore all sessions need to be attended. Places are limited to 30 people and will be allocated on a first come first served basis.

The ideal audience for this mini-course are graduates of MPH programs (or equivalent Masters degree in quantitative population sciences) this mini course has also been popular among practising public health professionals (largely doctors, nurses, and nutritionists) who have completed such training
years ago, and would like a refresher. The key pre-requisite is that the course materials assume that all learners have mastered the content of typical introductory statistics AND epidemiology courses.

Please see below schedule, full course overview will be emailed to particpants once they have registered.
