Professor Eric Larson - Deep Decarbonization: What Role for BECCS and Other...
On behalf of the UQ Energy Initiative, we are delighted to introduce Professor Eric Larson to present the keynote address at our final Energy Express Seminar for 2016.
Eric is a senior research faculty member with Princeton University’s Andlinger Center for Energy and the Environment. He also holds an appointment as a senior scientist with Climate Central, Inc., a non-profit, non-partisan science and media organization that aims to inform diverse audiences about climate change and potential solutions. Eric joined Princeton after receiving a PhD in mechanical engineering from the University of Minnesota in 1983. His research interests intersect engineering, environmental science, economics, and public policy. He conducts energy systems analyses aimed at identifying sustainable, engineering-based solutions to major energy-related problems, including global climate change. Eric's work assesses resource, economic, and environmental implications of prospective technology developments and helps inform public and private decision making in the U.S., China, and elsewhere. His interests encompass clean and efficient energy supply and use in transportation, industry, buildings, and power generation, with recent emphasis on the design, simulation, and techno-economic and environmental assessment of processes for converting biomass and fossil fuels into clean transportation fuels and electricity with CO2 capture and storage.
Eric will share his views on:
"Deep Decarbonization: What Role for BECCS and Other Negative Emissions?"
The seminar will be followed by a Question & Answer session and light refreshments. We would be pleased if you were able to attend the presentation on the evening of Wednesday 7 December and encourage you to forward details to others you feel may also be interested.
Admission is complimentary. Please RSVP, indicating any dietary requirements, by Monday 5 December 2016.
