Event description

Description

This all-day seminar will provide attendees with the knowledge and skills to create an Individual Education Plan (IEP) for students with a disability that meets the legislative requirements set down in the Disability Standards for Education (2005). Attendees will learn:

  1. The steps required to produce assessment-informed annual goals across multiple domains including academic, and social-emotional skills, for examples.
  2. How to write SMART goals (Specific, Measureable, Achievable, Relevant and Timely), and short to medium term learning objectives that lead to achieving annual goals.
  3. How to connect these goals to meet syllabus outcomes, including Life Skills outcomes for students in Years 7-12.
  4. How to include transition and behaviour intervention plans into IEPs.

This seminar is ideal for educators who are working with students with disability at all educational levels, and especially at the secondary level.
