Online Teacher Professional Development from The Australian Ballet Education and Outreach Team
TUESDAY 14 SEPTEMBER | 4:00-5:30pm AWST(6:00-7:30PM AEST)
Discover how our education team uses a dance education approach to support the learning of STEAM subjects; science, technology, engineering, arts and maths. You will leave with useful ideas to bring dance into your classroom to support the learning of other subjects, as well as a deeper understanding of the work of The Australian Ballet.
This session is suitable for generalist or specialist school teachers and others who work with school aged students (eg. occupational therapists, physios, communty group leaders). This session will have a particular focus on planning dance activities to support other learning areas (eg. science) and engaging students of all abilities in dance.
Important Information
Please wear something comfortable and be ready to move. The session will be part movement and part discussion and you are welcome to adapt movements, taking part only in what you are comfortable with. Dance experience is not necessary.
The session will be taught by a member of The Australian Ballet Education Team and will result in a certificate of participation (linked to AITSL standards).
The sessions are supported by resources on The Australian Ballet's EduHub. EduHub is an online resource designed for school teachers and students of all levels, which provides resources built around the works of The Australian Ballet.
