Event description

Description

Come and learn how to incorporate sustainability and hands-on making into your early learning program, in this practical and inspiring workshop.

As part of our “Creative Classrooms” initiative, we're offering this workshop for individuals to attend in-house at Reverse Garbage Queensland.

It's a great opportunity for educators to come to the inspiring RGQ warehouse space in Woolloongabba and learn about creative reuse. It's about doing more than recycling: it's finding creative ways to reuse what we have.

Mary Trabucco, RGQ Workshops Coordinator, says "we love facilitating workshops for educators because they get so excited about exploring and letting loose with the materials."

"Even if you don't think you're creative, you'll discover that inner spark that all of us have when you start combining and constructing things out of our unusual and inspiring discards."

This workshop is specifically for individuals. If you have a large group (8+ people) keen to attend we encourage you to book a private workshop. Please contact our workshops team to arrange this.

About Reverse Garbage Queensland PD workshops

We have delivered PD workshops to early learning educators for many years through our eco-arts program. In the past these have been at the request of the organisation or early learning centre. By popular request, we started making the PD workshop available for individuals to attend in-house from 2016. Participants will be welcome to keep in touch with us after the event to collaborate further.

What you'll learn and do

  • Learn about what we do at Reverse Garbage QLD, how to implement sustainable practises in your workplace, and methods for reusing/up-cycling salvaged materials.

  • Take away creative and practical ideas for using everyday items as well as some of our more unusual materials.

  • Get hands-on and experiment with materials from Reverse Garbage QLD to make your own creations using the ideas and techniques discussed.
