If you’re already dreading the imminent cold and flu season, then you’ll want to join Naturopaths Dr. Kara Dionisio & Dr. David Miller for this practical and actionable seminar. We are exposed to millions of potential pathogens daily, through contact, ingestion, and inhalation; you can Purell all you want, but a smarter strategy is to start with your own immune defence. The NDs will empower you to superpower your immune system for this winter, and for long term immune balance. Using their NMRx framework, they will show you specific ways to optimize your Nutrition, Movement, Relaxation and X-factor to create a robust and resilient immune system to prevent and fight colds, flus and other infections often encountered each Canadian winter.

In this 2 hour seminar you will learn:

  • What is the immune system? Why you should be empowered to improve your immune health (hint: so you don’t need to stress as much about getting sneezed on)

  • N: Learn what to eat (and more importantly, what not to eat) to nourish your gut, the bugs in your guts (microbiome), and how this is a very powerful way to balance your immune system.

  • M: Review the impact of exercise/movement on immune health

  • R: Understand the connections between the immune system and the nervous system and learn ways to actively “relax” by focusing on sleep, meditation, and other stress reduction techniques

  • X: Explore how passion, growth, connection, and even singing, sex and laughter impact your immune system

  • Nutritional Therapeutics: Review supplements, herbal extracts and homeopathics for immune balance as well as for acute care (if) you get sick. Learn the importance of Vitamin D and why it’s essential to obtain optimal levels through lab testing

  • Meal Plan: Receive a 1 week Immune Nourishing Meal Plan

Meet the Docs

Dr. Kara Dionisio B.Sc, M.Sc, ND is a self-proclaimed science and medicine nerd. She is a badass lady doc on a mission to elevate medicine by adding 'health' to healthcare through empowerment, collaboration and logic. She balances the letters behind her name with a dose of creativity and an unsuspecting sense of humor. She is the clinical director of Health Squad where she is curating some of the coolest health professionals around 'The Sound.’ In her spare time she is mom to two adorable fiesty kids Elly and Leo, and wife to some unfortunate Irish dude who really yearns for some potatoes instead of a gluten free goddess bowl.

Dr. David Miller BScH, ND asks ‘why’ a lot. He is on a mission to provide clarity, direction, and guidance to enable each and every one of us to seek out optimal health through personal growth and meaning. He takes the best of what the world of natural health has to offer, trims the fat and discards the labels and dogma to provide practical, clinically-inspired health solutions and strategies. Dr. Dave loves to use homeopathy as a complement to the NMRx framework, and his passion for homeopathy led to the development of his Health Canada-licensed cold sore remedy SORLEX. He likes good eats and good beats, and thinks it’s quite fascinating that we are here on this blue planet, spinning around a ball of fire together.
