Printmaking Basics - Timeless Textures with Woodblock Printing - with Cheryl McCoy.

Thank you for registering for The Makers Studio Members workshop Printmaking Basics Timeless Textures with Woodblock Printing being held on Monday 15th August 2022.

This workshop has been designed as an introductory class for beginners. In this workshop you will learn the basics for working with 3mm luan ply woodblocks. You will prepare & transfer your image to the block. We will examine what tools can be used and how they can be applied to achieve a variety of outcomes. You will learn the basics of using the press & printing by hand to allow you to take the next steps with confidence.

Date: 15th August 2022

Time: 10:00am to 4:00pm

Venue: The Makers Studio (East Gosford), 8 Russell Drysdale Street, East Gosford. (Back of the Lions Club Building).

What you need to bring:

• Any lino cutting tools you might have (tools will also be available for use at the studio)

• Images that can be applied to a 15 x 15 cm woodblock

• Your creative spirit and

• An art journal (for sketching, own note taking & recording of your prints)

What will be supplied:

• Carving tools

• 2 x Luan Ply Blocks (15 x 15cm)

• Printmaking paper x 1 sheet (Canson Edition 250gsm)

• Inks, brayers & presses

• Aprons

We will use a limited number of colours. This is an opportunity to suspend your expectations, have fun and learn some different approaches to your creative practice.

Please bring your lunch, wear closed in shoes, tea and coffee supplied.
