Event description

Description

Are you an advocate working in the disability sector in Victoria?

Are you up to date with violence prevention frameworks?

Women with Disabilities Victoria (WDV) invites advocates to the following workshop:

Preventing Violence against Women with Disabilities in Advocacy - “Intersections of Gender and Disability”

This workshop will provide you with the opportunity to:

· Unpack key determinants of violence – examining intersections of gender and disability, stereotypes, and perpetuation of cultures of disrespect

· Develop strategies to identify and address gender and disability inequality and prevent violence against women with disabilities in advocacy work

· Share local challenges you are seeing for women with disabilities, and discuss strategies to increase engagement with advocacy across Victoria

· Collaborate and network with other advocates working across Victoria

Registration will be at 9:45am for a 10:00am start.

For more information about the day please contact Lauren Brain (Rural Linkages Project Officer) at lauren.brain@wdv.org.au or (03) 9286 7821.
