Is an apple a day sufficient to secure good health?

A lunchtime forum and deliberative workshop on the pre-conditions for chronic disease will be held in the premises of PriceWaterhouseCoopers on 26 March.

Keynote speaker Prof. Robyn McDermott MBBS, MPH, PhD, FAFPHM, Professor of Public Health Medicine at the Centre for Chronic Disease Prevention at James Cook University will speak at 12.30-1.30 pm on the cost of not funding preventative health seriously. After adjourning for light refreshments, attendees will participate in a roundtable discussion in brainstorm format until 4:30 PM, followed by refreshments.

The twin event will focus on the scientific evidence of the causes of chronic ill-health and local and international evidence of the cost savings of preventative measures. The twin event will suit clinical and other practitioners, scholars and policy officers operating at all levels of government.

It will also suit business people with a stake in the health and medical sectors and those involved in management consulting concerned with the health and well-being of people within the organisations they advise.

Lunchtime forum commences at 12.30pm sharp.
