Fisher Lane Mobility are proud to present their first Pressure Care Professional Training Program for 2017!
The half day session (10:00am - 2:00pm) will be held in the Fisher Lane Mobility Braybrook training rooms and will be hosted by Koreen Williams from Novis Healthcare and Cal Bruce from Fisher Lane Mobility.
Our workshops are capped to 25 attendees to ensure ample opportunity for question time and attendee participation.
Overview of the Pressure Care Workshop:
The aim of this clinical presentation is to give an overview of the statistics, physiology, risk factors and management strategies for preventing pressure related injuries, without placing unnecessary burden on the care giver.
The clinical session is broken down into several components, including statistics, physiology, risk factors and management principles of pressure related injuries. The presentation is supported by practical information regarding static and dynamic mattress functionality, features and selection criteria.
Koreen will also give a brief overview of the changes in purchasing pressure care products through Hospital Purchasing Victoria, and the effect that this will have on both the aged care and acute setting.
A BIT ABOUT THE PRESENTER
Koreen Williams is a certified trainer who has been working the in pressure care field for over 5 years. With a background in health science, Koreen has a passion for nutrition and skin integrity, and focuses on patient centric solutions to provide the best clinical outcomes.
Koreen is currently employed by Novis Healthcare, who specialise in the areas of Pressure Injury Prevention and Manual Transfer.
In September 2015, Koreen attended the European Pressure Ulcer Advisory Panel conference in Ghent and can offer an insight to pressure care strategies used both locally and internationally. Koreen regularly presents on this very important subject to healthcare professionals across Victoria, South Australia and Tasmania.
Cal Bruce has been a team member at FLM since 2010. Cal has had exposure to all areas of the business, beginning his time in the warehouse and working his way into sales. Cal’s professional training in addition to his years working with health professional includes specialised seating,pressure care and scripting/modifications training. Cal has an excellent rapport with his clients and health professionals and is a huge asset to the FLM Team.
