Event description

Description

Bird Wing Preservation

In this workshop, I'll be guiding you through the process of preserving your very own set of bird wings. Learn the correct process of skinning and defleshing, washing, creating muscles from hemp, and arranging feathers. Your bird wings can be taken home for display.

You have the option to bring a deceased bird (roadkill) to class, or I will supply a pigeon for you to work on. Please note: All native fauna needs individual approval from DPAW (department of parks and wildlife) https://www.dpaw.wa.gov.au/plants-and-animals/licences-and-permits

This is a great course to do in conjunction with the Victorian Headpiece class, where you can use your preserved wings to make wearable art.
