Event description

Give your teenager a head start - an effective presentation really can accelerate careers!

Our Presentation Skills Workshops are designed to build confidence and technique and are specifically designed for senior seconadry students in Years 9 - 12.

We use trained professional actors and work in small groups to maximise learning. Our workshops are great for anyone who is looking to:

  • Apply for School Leadership positions

  • Achieve their highest potential in graded or assessed presentations

  • Build confidence in applying for Univeristy Placement Interviews

  • Build confidence in applying for corporate sector job interviews

  • Achieve their highest potential in graded or assessed presentations

  • Engage in careeers where public speaking is required (eg Law, Politics etc)

Our Workshops are interactive, effective and fun. We cover:

  • How to prepare vocally and physically

  • How to present the appearance of confidence and create impact - even if you're nervous

  • How to engage with and hold an audience

  • Each participant will receive extensive personal feedback and will leave knowing where their presentation strenghts lie and ways they can continue to develop.

  • We work with small groups which also gives us the flexibility to adapt to and stretch the needs of each participant.

Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event?

Our workshops are aimed at senior secondary students who are currently in years 9-12

What are my transport/parking options for getting to and from the event?

There is plenty of carparking near the venue and lots of coffee shops for Mum and Dad to go to after they've dropped you off! It's an easy 2 minute walk from Blackburn station.

What should I wear?

Our workshops are practical and fun and as such we'll be teaching you how to warm up and present yourselves physically. Please wear loose, comfortable clothing that you can be relaxed in and that is suited to moving around in. We would suggest that anyone wanting to wear skirts or dresses, wear bike shorts or leggings underneath.

How can I contact the organiser with any questions?

We are more than happy to answer any questions either by email or phone. Email us at: pip@dc-dct.com.au or call us on 0403 464 048

What's the refund policy?

As we work with very small groups, we only take a limited number of bookings for each workshop. If you are unable to attend on the day because of illness etc, then let us know and we will do our very best to arrange for someone on the waiting list to take your place, in which case a full refund will be issued. You can also arrange to 'on sell' your ticket to a friend if you're unable to attend. We're very reasonable people so contact us with any queries in this regard!

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?

Is my registration fee or ticket transferrable?

If you're unable to attend at short notice, you can transfer your ticket to a friend if you wish - just make sure you email us to notify us of the change at pip@dc-dct.com.au

Is it ok if the name on my ticket or registration doesn't match the person who attends?

Yes - but please email us at pip@dc-dct.com.au to let us know of the change

What should I bring?

We will provide an assortment of fresh fruit, biscuits and plenty of water for morning and afternoon tea. Please bring your lunch with you or money to buy it at one of the many local food outlets. Please make us aware of any food allergies or medical concerns you may have, prior to the event.
