Narrating the ordinary (the ordinary narrative)
Highly respected writer, editor and publisher Sophie Cunningham considers the threads that exist between seemingly disparate and repetitive events and how a writer might seek to spin a narrative out of the everyday. She will discuss her current projects as well as looking at authors, historical and contemporary, who have a knack for making the ordinary extraordinary.
Sophie is an RMIT Adjunct Professor with non/fictionLab and the author of two novels, Geography (2004) and Bird (2008) and two nonfiction works, Melbourne (UNSW Press, 2011) and Warning: The Story of Cyclone Tracy (2014).
