Description

Autoresponse is about the interconnectivity between writing, art and dance. Featuring four prolific artists, this performative event uses reflection and response to challenge dominant storytelling narratives.

Maxime Banks is a time-traveller, emergent experimental filmmaker, creator whose work intersects science, visual art, creative technology, poetry, Afro-galactic archive. Ideas in quantum physics inform her image-making, thinking and imagination. A sense of otherness influence across Afrofuture anamnesis, collage and quantum poetics. Timmah Ball is a non-fiction writer whose work is influenced by working across urban planning, zine making, and other creative forms. She grew up in Birrarung-ga/Melbourne but her heritage is Ballardong Noongar from Western Australia on her mother’s side. Raina Peterson is a dancer-choreographer. They are one of Australia’s only professional practitioners of mohiniyattam (classical dance of Kerala, India). Their work is also informed by queer performance art.
