Get creative in this full-day dinosaur-themed theatre workshop presenting science through story!

Have you ever wanted to bring awesome prehistoric creatures, such as dinosaurs, back to life? Well now you can! Working with Matriark Theatre Company and our very own ‘Winny’ dinosaur puppeteers, children aged 8-12 years will learn how to take people on a journey of the imagination by creating puppets inspired by the Museum collection.

No experience necessary as children will be introduced to the creative process of performance, design and puppetry in this full day workshop.

Parents or carers are invited to watch the puppets come to life from 3:30pm in the Halstrom Theatre (Ground Level).


Ages: 8-12 years

Dates: 8 or 9 Oct

Times: 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM

Cost: $95 AM Members; $105 Non-members* (Inc. GST and Booking fee *Bookings essential)

Meeting Point: Museum Entrance, cnr of William and College Street. Staff will greet group at 9am.

Special Notes: Make sure you sign your child in and out on arrival and departure.


What to bring:

• Backpack with morning tea and lunch

• Water bottle

• Clothing for outdoors i.e. hat, raincoat, walking shoes, sunscreen as lunch will be in Cook & Philip Park opposite Museum.



No refunds. Transfers need to be made at least 72 hours in advance, subject to availability and AM staff discretion.
