Thurston is a data scientist who uses technology and math to try and predict when innovations will survive or fail. His quantitative methodologies have guided more than $100 billion in organic innovation, acquisitions and corporate venture capital investments by Fortune 500 firms.
Thurston first used data science to guide growth investments and innovation at Intel. Based on this research he was invited to the Harvard Business School by Professor Clayton Christensen to collaborate as a resident fellow. He also helped found a supercomputing business that was later acquired, and is a member of the Harvard Business School Forum for Growth and Innovation.
