Event description
The Active Learning Toolkit workshops will introduce you to a range of software to facilitate active learning in your online classes.

About this event

Online platforms like Zoom and MS Teams are great tools for synchronous online classes, but how can you use these to promote active learning online? This workshop is for staff looking for inspiration for actively engaging learners in online classrooms. It is aimed at staff who are already familiar with the basic functionality of Zoom or MS Teams. If you are not familiar with the basic functionality of your chosen platform, we recommend first attending the Getting started with Zoom or MS Teams workshops.

This session will cover:

  • Recommended settings
  • How to actively engage learners with built in functionality including annotation, verbal and non-verbal feedback, polling, sharing content screen, white board, breakout rooms, plus apps
  • Share top tips for active learning

Tara Draper has over 20 years’ practical teaching experience in both face-to-face and online delivery modes. Tara is currently employed in DLF and SEBE CloudDeakin Support, to empower academics in the use of digital technology for online teaching and learning.
