Event description

Description

Japanese style moxa incorporates many different uses of moxa, as well as tools and techniques. What you use depends both on the complaint and the patient's own condition. This 2 day course covers the basic tools and skills to use Okyu (half rice grain moxa) and Chinetsukyu (cone moxa). It is said that unless the point chosen for treatment is “alive”, then treatment will be ineffective. Finding live points is done both by theory and by touch. Although the “famous points” are very important, if these are not alive to treatment, then a different point is chosen by palpation. The difference in treatment result when properly using the live point is enormous. Once we start to be able to use points in this way, you will find yourself applying this skill with points across all of your practice.

What you will learn during this weekend:

  • learn the difference between Okyu and Chinestsukyu and when to apply
  • how to roll, place and light your moxa
  • when and how to remove
  • learn the famous points for many conditions
  • how to do a whole back treatment, by identifying live points and applying moxa
  • apply these palpation skills to identify live famous points or other live points around the body
  • identify how much dose to apply and when to remove
