Description

Foundational Non-Profit Consulting - Practical Governance Training Workshop for Small Not For Profits & Clubs Committees

Who should come to this workshop?

  • Individuals looking to start their own Non-profit group, club or charity.

  • Members of the leadership team of small Non-profit groups, clubs or charities.

What's the workshop about?

Many small non-profit and recreational clubs are run by volunteers who bring their various skills and time in business and community to be used to grow a cause, charity or sports club. However, running a Not For Profit organisation requires a level of compliance and organisation that is often misunderstood, difficult to understand, and that means good volunteers get burned out or dis-illusioned with the process, lack of progress or administration required to make the group successful.

This workshop is presented by:

Kerrie Sheaves - Director | Foundational Non-Profit Consulting

About Kerrie:

Kerrie Sheaves is the Community Section columnist for the Sydney Hills & Hawkesbury Living Magazine, has established & run her own NFP organisations for 9 years, as well as served on the board of NFP Charity organisations, and is the Chair of the Hills Mental Health Interagency. Kerrie has worked with micro and small non-profit groups providing consulting services, training and grant writing for over 7 years, as well as working with For Profit Micro and Small business owners, helping people to grow their ideas into reality.

In this workshop you will learn:

  • About the operating structures, member responsibilities and rules that govern and manage the operations of a not for profit organisation.

  • Identify your role in the organisation and decide which parts of the process you are most comfortable being an active part of, and how to help other people in your group find their role.

  • The differences between your Management Executive Committee (Board) and Operational Committees and the important role each group plays in the success of your organisation.

  • The key roles, responsibilities and obligations of the Management Committee (board) members and persons who are considering nomination to the board.

  • Creating chains of accountabillity to ensure the work gets done and that transparency and integrity in your organisation is maintained so that funders want to support you.
