Event description

Description

This course will cover the language essentials and cultural practices to allow professionals to conduct and build successful Indonesian business.

The course is designed to be practical, with relevant up-to-date content and keywords/phrases presented and reinforced with engaging activities, allowing professionals and language learners alike to pick up and use the knowledge and training on their next flight to Jarkata.

Each class is accompanied with note hand-outs and downloadable digital content to equip and expand your Indonesian language and business capabilities. A professional speaker with bilingual Indonesian language, cultural and business background will guide each class. As well a Silkroads tea master will serve complimentary delicious cuppa.

Indonesia, Southeast Asia's largest economy and - in our opinion - one of the most promising economies for the foreseeable future. The current ongoing economic shift from West to East has generated significant and increasing interest for giant emerging economies such as China and India. Not far behind these two giant economies, Indonesia - a country we label as 'sleeping giant' - has fully recovered from the Asian Financial Crises that emerged in the late 1990s and has been showing continuous robust macroecnomic growth for almost a decade; growth that is forecast to continue at an even higher pace if certain conditions are met.

Course Topics:

  1. Week 1: Self Introductions | Business greeting customs.

  2. Week 2: Addressing audience and third parties.

  3. Week 3: Dining keywords | Tardiness | Cunducting business with different cultural groups.

  4. Week 4: Travel | Directions | Ojeks.

  5. Week 5: Emergencies | Natural disasters protocol.

  6. Week 6: Indonesian business tools | Social Media.
