Event description

Description

An evening with Julie Diamond Ph.D - brought to you by ICF Australasia Victoria and ODA.

In coaching, there are complex power dynamics at play: there is power in our role as coach or OD practitioner, and the power that our clients imbue us with through their trust in us as growth partners; there is the positional or social power of our clients, which can at times be greater than our own. We each carry a complex set of powers, including our own personal history of power and rank dynamics, and there is the power imbalance inherent in a one-way disclosure of personal information. To work responsibly and ethically as coaches and facilitators, we need deep power competency and skills for navigating the complex mix of rank and roles in the coaching relationship.

This session will explore Power Intelligence®, the core competencies of power through discussion, experiential work, and case examples. It will address:

  • Using power in a coaching role
  • Navigating the traps of power
  • Being aware of personal rank history
  • Developing role and rank clarity
  • Power Intelligence® core competencies

This session has been approved for 2.0 CCEUs in Core Competencies. ICF Global requires full live attendance to be eligible for CCEUs.
