About this event

The Age of Enlightenment (Le siècle des Lumières) was the intellectual, philosophical and scientific movement which dominated the 17th and 18th century in Europe.

In this illustrated talk Professor Robert Clancy AM, author of The Long Enlightenment, will discuss how France has influenced Australia and the Pacific through the voyages of the famous French navigators.

A joint presentation by the Friends of the State Library of NSW & Friends of the Lapérouse Museum.
