Event description
`PACE stands for PLAYFULNESS, ACCEPTANCE, CURIOSITY, EMPATHY.

About this Event

PACE is an approach of four personal qualities which allows adults to support a child’s/ young person develop their own self-awareness, emotional intelligence and resilience. Over time, and with practice, the young person/child will gain strong tools to better understand and regulate their emotions. Key to this approach is a deep respect for the child’s/young persons own experiences and their inner life. When an adult engages in this work we provide a supported space within which children hone and develop their own thinking skills. We help children to reflect upon, understand and then manage their emotions more skillfully.

`PACE stands for PLAYFULNESS, ACCEPTANCE, CURIOSITY, EMPATHY.

This 3 hour course is an introduction into the concepts of PACE and it’s application in working with young people in times of emotional intensity.

The facilitator is Kym Glynn, Learning and Development Coordinator from CASPA. Kym has worked in community services for over 20 years and has been a trainer in both corporate and the community services sector.
