Gippsland experienced a surge of development after World War II, dominated by expansion in industry (coal, gas, oil and paper) and major projects such as the expansion of the Macalister Irrigation District. This conference explores how this development attracted people to Gippsland and how it impacted on the lives of Gippslanders.
The conference will bring together members of the Gippsland Association of Affiliated Historical Societies (GAAHS), the Centre for Gippsland Studies (CGS), FedUni library and the Collaborative Research Centre in Australian History (CRCAH).
This is a free event and all are welcome.
