Positive Birth and Parenting Workshop (Online) Saturday - consists of 2 sessions held on consecutive Saturdays. Each session runs for 6 hours and includes a lunch break.

Due to COVID19 restrictions this class will be held online only. there are no face to face classes. Please DO NOT present to Westmead hospital as you will be turned away.

If you attend this program you are entitled to attend a breastfeeding workshop free.

Westmead Hospital positive birth and parenting workshop is a unique childbirth preparation program that brings together only evidence-based techniques and practices. The techniques that you learn for your birth in this course are supported by research.

The workshop starts promptly at 9.30 am. Please arrive online at 9.15 am for registration so the day can begin on time.

YOU MUST BE BIRTHING YOUR BABY AT WESTMEAD HOSPITAL TO RECEIVE A DISCOUNTED FEE. ALL WOMEN BOOKED TO BIRTH THEIR BABY AT ANOTHER HOSPITAL MUST PAY THE FULL FEE.

It is recommended to book this workshop if you are due between 26th February to 30th April 2022

• Mind and body working together during labour
• Labouring at home and when to come to the hospital
• Positions for labour and birth – being active
• Birth with confidence
• Evidence-based techniques for labour and birth including acupressure, massage, breathing and relaxation
• Tour of the Birth Unit
• Handling and care of baby
• Helping your baby’s sleeping and waking patterns
• Being informed about common obstetric interventions
• Calming an unsettled baby
• Communicating with your baby
• Parenting issues – including postnatal depression, roles and identities

The cost of the Saturday Workshop also includes a free registration to the Antenatal Breastfeeding Workshop You will be required to insert your Saturday workshop booking number to get the free registration.

This program is an interactive workshop designed to enhance your birthing and early parenting experience.

Do I bring my partner along to all the classes with me?​ Partners are encouraged to attend online with you.

What can/can't I bring to the event? You may like to bring a water bottle, snacks and lunch.

 Is my registration/ticket transferrable? No

Can I update my registration information? Yes, you can return to the booking page to do so.

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event? No. You can print out or save on the Eventbrite app if you wish.

What is the refund policy?

A full refund may be given only in the following circumstances:

• Premature birth
• Hospital admission
• Cancellation request 3 weeks prior to the class commencement date

If less than three weeks’ notice will incur a fee of $30.00. NO REFUND will be given for cancellation requests less than three days before a class commences. NO REFUND will be given for change of mind after the program has commenced.
