Introductory workshop for direct support people

For successful PBS to occur, everyday support people require the skills to implement strategies outlined in individually designed PBS plans.

Training outline

  • An introduction to PBS
  • Basic PBS strategies to support a person’s communication and choice
  • Defining behaviours of concern
  • Collecting data to assist with monitoring the progress of PBS interventions
  • Understanding PBS plans
  • Understanding the PBS process as a team approach
  • Collaborating with key stakeholders

This training is focussed on people working in disability, and is relevant to many disability types such as autism (ASD), intellectual disability (ID), and acquired brain injury (ABI).
