WHAT IS THIS WORKSHOP?

Posing is a fundamental skill set all Models and Photographers should know to get great images. This workshop is designed to train you as a model and/or photographer to work with more confidence and competence around the camera to get the most flattering images through great posing.

THE BACKGROUND

This workshop was born in an effort to help train up and coming talent and people with little photographic experience on how they can be better in front of the camera. To give them some tools and tricks to be the best they can be while helping them understand the photographers point of view as well. This skill comes from the accumulation of all my experiences in my 16 years as a photographer.

It became evident very quickly that this topic was extremely popular among photographers too, eager to learn how they could teach their own clients. So I have moulded the workshop to cater to both models and photographers, giving both sides of the camera a bit of insight into each others worlds!

This workshop will be approximately a 2 hour talk complete with slideshow, showing plenty of sample images and maybe even a live demonstration if I can find a willing participant. I am a very laid back person, and I like my workshops to be a bit more informal and relaxed so feel free to ask questions, and enjoy yourself. There will be ample time for Q&A afterwards as well as a bit of a meet and greet for everyone.

WHAT WILL I LEARN?

I will break down the fundamentals of what makes a great pose, from the eyes and face to the body and all the pitfalls to avoid to get the most flattering images of your subject. I wont give you a list of poses, I will give you the tools and guidelines to create your own as well as the tricks and tips to go with it.

This is all coming from a swimwear/glamour/budoir point of view, but it universally applies across a broad range of genres. We will then go a level deeper than just posing and look at the science of it all, and how to understand light as a model, how to direct a model, how important communication is and building rapport, building confidence, the do's and don'ts, and a whole bunch of information from all my experiences. I will target all this information to both the model and the photographer the best I can.

What are my transport/parking options for getting to and from the event?

Please park across the road at the Meltham Train Station, or around the corner on Sussex St. There is no parking next door.

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?

Yes, you will need your ticket or the eventbrite app on your phone to gain entry.
