Port River Alive - Chat with a Local Volunteer
Event Information
About this Event
Find out more about the Port River, including who and what lives in the River and along its shorelines.
Drop in to the rear courtyard of the Port Adelaide Visitor Information Centre and chat to local volunteers who connect with the River as a living system of dolphins, shellfish, mangroves, coastal plants and shorebirds.
This event is organised by the Estuary Care Foundation (ECF) in collaboration with the City of Port Adelaide Enfield.
Enjoy the short film 'Port River Encounter' made by Darrly Poole for ECF. Also see a live native oyster, a species which used to be readily found in the River and now are being brought back by ECF.
For social distancing purposes, 16 people max can visit the courtyard at any one time.
An option for visitors is to do the inner harbour Environmental Walk which is also part of the Nature Festival - https://www.naturefestival.org.au/event/self-guided-environment-walk-inner-harbour-port-adelaide
