This is a free event. BYO tablet or laptop. This Dojo is aimed at students 12–15 years old.
At the Perth City Library during Knowledge Week, students aged 12–15 have the opportunity to participate in a pop-up CoderDojo run by skilled mentors from Woodside. Students and teachers can get a taste of the Dojo experience and learn how to get involved in a Dojo in their area – or start one at their school.
CoderDojos are fun, free clubs where ‘Ninjas’ come together in ‘Dojos’ (temples of learning’) to learn how to code, develop websites, create apps and more. Dojos are run by volunteers at universities, libraries, corporate offices, schools and more. A Dojo is not a classroom; it is an open and social learning environment where Ninjas can work on their own projects with the support of volunteer mentors. Whether they have no coding experience or they are tech savvy, Ninjas of all abilities are welcome to attend a Dojo and power their digital skills.
