• Suits kids 1-5 years old (younger siblings welcome and free).

This is a Christmas special event!

What will we be doing?

There will be a few things set up for the kids to move around between as they choose.

There will be tables to the side with blank butchers paper on them, and we'll be also spending lots of time sitting down on the fake grass together as well.

🎄 This is a special CHRISTMAS event! 🎄

There will be a few different activities happening all at the same time, so the kids can walk around, move between things, change what they are doing, and choose something they are interested in.

We will be outside in the courtyard of a cafe, doing lots of creative and arty things:

  • drawing, scribbling and stamping their hearts out
  • there will be butchers paper on tables for open ended fun
  • general painting
  • making some Christmas ornaments that you can keep!
  • using special window crayons to draw on a mirror
  • colouring in sheets on clipboards that they can walk around with
  • having lots of fun
  • AND it will all be Christmas themed!

This will not be a scary Halloween event. Encourage your child to dress up, and let's have some fun!

And the grown ups will be drinking some pretty good coffee while the kids have fun. Please support Bezirk in buying a coffee or two while you are here :)Please note, as this is a cafe, there are no windows and so we won't be drawing on windows for this one. But there will be a mirror instead!

The kids are free to stay on an activity if they are particularly enjoying it, move onto the next thing, or ignore everything and scribble on the butchers paper laid out on the table. These sessions are more about learning to love art, than creating any final masterpiece. The kids are always encouraged to express themselves however they like and be creative, so if they are more interested in mixing all the coloured paint together and putting handprints on the paper than anything else, it's more than fine! They will still enjoy themselves. :)

Why should I come?

  • It's lots of fun.
  • Helps your child be creative and learn to love art.
  • An opportunity to do something different.
  • Meet new people – both you and your child.
  • Helps build fine motor skills.
  • Helps with pre-writing skills.
  • Can help teach kids that mess is ok, and making mistakes is ok too.
  • You don't have to think of an art activity to do at home.
  • You don't have to clean up afterwards!

This is also a great way to give your kids the experience of painting and making lots of mess, if you the parent are a bit apprehensive about making that mess yourself at home. Come to my sessions and make the mess with me, keeping your house clean.

There is no pressure and a very easy going environment. There will be lots of scribbles, there will be smooshes of paint that you can't recognise as a picture, and there will be some great photos that you can take.

Extra info

  • Snacks and breastfeeding welcome.
  • This is a cafe, so please be mindful that they sell food and are a small business. So please support them and buy a coffee, babychino, maybe some snacks! And of course you could stay for lunch if your day is looking good.
  • I'll be taking photos throughout the morning and using them for marketing and promotional purposes. If you'd prefer your child is not included please simply let me know.
  • We will be painting, so please dress accordingly!
  • I have some art smocks, but only a limited amount. Depending on how many children attend, there may not be enough for all. If you have your own art smock please bring it along.
  • If your child has any allergies please let me know, as I often recycle old cartons and fruit packaging for paint containers.

(in saying that, please bring snacks to help avoid hangry kids!)
