Poetry Workshop

By Frankston City Libraries

Overview

Discover the art of poetry in this hands-on workshop with award-winning local poet Andrea Louise Thomas.

This is nuts and bolts writing workshop where you’ll learn about poetry and its unique composition. You’ll hear some great poems and then write a couple of your own which you may or may not choose to share with the group. Perhaps you’d like to write a love poem for your valentine, or an ode to your favourite library (it’s us, isn’t it?) this coming Library Lovers Day!

On this poetic journey, you'll be guided by our facilitator, Andrea Louise Thomas, an internationally award-winning poet, freelance writer and writing instructor who has performed her poetry at Melbourne Writer’s Festival, Australian Poetry Slam, on TV, and radio. Andrea is a qualified teacher with a BA in English (UC Berkeley).
