About the poet
David L. Falcon's work has been published in the Sydney Morning Herald and various anthologies and literary journals. He has performed his work at Varuna, NSW Writers’ Centre, Poets’ Union, Radio Station 2NBC, and the Live Poets’ Society. He was a winner in the 1996 Sydney Writers’ Festival Poetry Olympics. More recently his work has been featured in Red Room projects and can be found online.
"Hidden in Plain View is a collection of poems written by an engaged and curious Sydneysider: it moves from recollections of a working-class – with its confident drinkers and its weatherboard streetscapes – that barely exists anymore, to broader meditations on the dialogue between the present moment and its longer perspectives: from Havelock Ellis to the characters who built the Harbour Bridge; from Dubrovnik and Heraklion, to Copacabana Beach and the Burragorang Valley. David Falcon is fascinated by both the quotidian and the exotic, and underpinning his responses, there is a vein of kindness, and respect, for the lives that prompted them." Martin Langford
About the musician
A storyteller and entertainer, Sam Joole has remained undefinable and uncategorizable. He has been touring the world for a decade, searching for new inspirations and musical traditions to work with.
Fascinated by different genres, he draws heavily from American blues, country, soul, African harmony, celtic riffs and classical melodies, blended into his own Aussie acoustic rock.

Statement on COVID-19 safety
Garden Lounge takes the current health epidemic very seriously and we have implemented the following actions to minimise the risk of contagion:
* All staff are washing their hands frequently throughout the day and disinfecting tables, chairs, arcade machines, books etc on a rolling routine
* Customers are asked to use our hand sanitiser or handwashing station (near the counter) on arrival
* Our shop decor has been rearranged to maximise distance between individuals and increase the total seating space available
* Our concertina front windows and doors are ALWAYS open, as is the back door, so punters can listen and watch performances without remaining in the main room
* The microphone, guitar and piano are disinfected every time someone uses them
* We are making surgical masks and hand sanitsiser freely available for all to use (subject to supply)
* Customers feeling ill or displaying signs of illness are asked to stay home.
* Staff suffering any symptoms of illness will be sent home (with sick pay)
* Our COVID-SAFE plan includes a nominated Covid marshall onsite for events to ensure social distancing both in the venue and on the footpath outside.
* Any audience, staff or performers who disregard the safety of others will be asked to leave
