Parramatta Art Society are encouraging all art enthusiasts to join them for this free plein air painting workshop at Old Government House.

About this Event

Join the wonderful and talented Parramatta Art Society in the fresh air and turn your hand to capturing the beauty of historic Old Government House and the surrounding parkland. Led by Brian Richardson, who has a passion for plein air painting, this free workshop will take you through the steps of capturing the outdoors in charcoal. All materials and art instruction will be supplied. Artists practicing in other mediums are welcome to join us – please bring your own materials. So come along and join us in this community art activity. All you need is a little time, and as much enthusiasm as you can muster. We recommend that you allow 2 hours for this activity. This event is being run in partnership with the Parramatta Art Society. The Society is the longest running art society in New South Wales, being formed in 1950. The aim of the Society is to encourage, promote and foster appreciation of arts in the local community through encouraging emerging artists of all ages to develop their skills. The Society provides a friendly welcome and members have the opportunity to exhibit their work at regular exhibitions at the Society's art gallery.
